I love reading encouraging scripture that many of you have already been sending me. If you have heard or read anything lately that you would like to share, I would love for you to post it here so I can be reminded and encouraged through God’s word.

    “Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
    They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
    Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.”
    -Psalm 112:6-8

    Cheslie, your faith in the Lord through all of this is so refreshing. I know God is going to continue to use you in such amazing ways.

    You are loved.

    13 Are any of you suffering from hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, annointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. and if you have committed any sins, you are forgiven.

    James 5:13-15

    Cheslie, my grandfather passed away in March of pancreatic cancer and this verse always brought him comfort, it was part of Hebrews 13:5-6

    God has said
    “Never will I leave you;
    never will I forsake you.”
    So we say with confidence,
    The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

    praying for you during this hardship!

    Hello Cheslie,
    I learned of your blog from Kendall Conner. I am a three time Hogkins Lymphoma survivor. Reading your blog brings me right back to my treatment days, but I wanted to encourage you and let you know that the Lord is near. He knows your journey full well and will walk with you faithfully throughout.

    Just before my third bone marrow biopsy a friend shared this verse…
    Zephaniah 3:17
    The Lord your God is with you,
    He is mighty to save.
    He will take great delight in you,
    He will quiet you with His love,
    He will rejoice over you with singing.

    I loved this verse for so many reasons…It is the LORD who saves us, we can trust in Him. He truly is the one who saves us if it is His will. He will delight in you as you trust in Him and glorify with your response to this trial. You are already doing so great as a young person going through this.

    I will pray for you as you continue on your journey. You can read about my story (I am a little older, but I know I loved hearing the success stories of others) on my blog at http://www.carepages.com the name of my page is “tracysplace”

    God bless you and keep trusting HIM!

    You are loved, Cheslie. God loves you so much He wants you to know He cares for you no matter what the circumstances may look like, and that He ALWAYS gives GOOD gifts to his kids. Praise Him in the midst of your troubles, for “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”, 2 Corinthians 3:17. Love, Dad DeMaio

  13. Hey Cheslie!

    This is from a new journal I just got for my birthday – with devotions written by Beth Moore.

    “Lord, today I’m going to trust You to fill my heart with purpose.

    Life can be excruciating. Crushing, in fact. …Something so horrible can happen that we conclude we’ll never be okay again.
    … but I am convinced that when the last chapter of each life story is recorded in heaven, people would rather have lived out their fullness of days with purpose rather than painlessness.”

    Psalm 139:1-16
    1 You have searched me, LORD,
    and you know me.
    2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
    3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
    4 Before a word is on my tongue
    you, LORD, know it completely.
    5 You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
    6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
    8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
    9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
    10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
    11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
    12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

    13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
    14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
    15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
    16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

    “And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” – Romans 5: 3-5
